Whole-Grain Porridge with Walnuts
Creamy oat porridge with walnuts and cinnamon. Warm, straightforward and sized for one breakfast serving.

- 50 g rolled oats
- 220 ml milk (3.5%)
- 15 g walnuts
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt

Bring to the boil
Put the oats, milk and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan and bring to the boil while stirring.

Simmer until creamy
Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 5–7 minutes. Stir regularly, especially across the base, until creamy.

Leave to stand
Take the pan off the heat and leave for 2 minutes; the porridge will thicken a little more.

Serve
Roughly chop the walnuts. Spoon the porridge into a bowl and finish with the walnuts and cinnamon.
Tip
If the porridge becomes too thick, add milk a tablespoon at a time; if too loose, simmer for another minute.
